So People Might Actually Like Me? What?

So I was paying attention avidly in Art History today (This will be the first and last lie of the post, after the election, I'm a little lied-out), when I got a text from my dear friend whose name shall not be mentioned mainly because I don't feel like mentioning Lisa's name in public blog posts.  Now, when most people send me a text in class, I ignore it, like the good little student I am.  However, by the strength of whatever demon forced me to do it, probably both boredom and just being a general badass like I am, I opened it up and read it.  It said, and I quote:

"someone created fan art of growlsbysprouls doucheday stuff lol" [sic]

Yes, I just put a [sic] in there.  Don't judge me.

Now, I'm not sure what is so "lol"-worthy about this (and believe me, Lisa and I have had many a discussion about how even I, with my incredible wit and massive ego, am not that funny), but I did not believe her at first.  But alas, I received a Facebook notification-a picture of the actual artwork from my other friend (and I'm not telling you Kelsey's name on this blog post either, SO DON'T ASK).

And it was true.  Not a lie.  Not even remotely fabricated.

PROOF:

You guys.  Fan art.  FAN.  ART.  I think that the boy with spiky hair might be Darrel, but he just seems too...nice.

I am now officially popular.  I even have upped my fanbase to 26 followers.  This is Blogspot!  This kind of shit NEVER happens!  If Blogspot had a Karma meter, it'd be off the charts!

Dammit, Reddit is starting to get to me.  Yeah, I got onto Reddit.  I am slowly stopping all forward progress on basically anything now.  But back to more important matters.  Fan art.

I'm not sure who this Tea person is, and the pixels make that signature thing on the paper really vague.  So Tea, although I cannot, at this time, thank you properly, I shall do it vaguely over the internet.  Because there is no better way at the present time.

And that means I should probably get my ass off of Reddit and back to drawing the Douchemeister himself again.

I swear, the next episode is going to be called "fanservice."

Just kidding, no it won't.

That being said, I should let you know that the actual title of my comic is "The Adventures of Douchebag Darrel," which was posted on "Doucheday," a great pseudonym for Tuesday.

UPDATE:  During the writing of this post, the mysterious and unnamed fan artist has been identified.  Shockingly, her name was not Tea.  I'll protect Tawni's name from the public humiliation of being associated with this blog by continuing to call her Tea.

I'm such a good person, and Tea knows it.  How good am I?  So good, that DARREL WILL BE COMING BACK ON FRIDAYS STARTING TOMORROW.

That's right.  I've had a story involving Darrel and it took until this week to be finished.  It's a bit of a big deal.  You'll see why.  You'll love it.  I promise.  Kind of.  I actually have no idea how well-received it will be.  And after that, it should theoretically just go from there.

On a side note, I'm really sick right now.  Like fever/coughing/sneezing/it's-hilarious-to-watch-me-suffer sick.  Like I was walking with two other unnamed friends, and I practically fell over from coughing and Brianna and Christin just laughed at me.  They're my two best friends up here.  I sure can pick 'em.

See?  I'm being all secretive-like because I spelled Bryana's name wrong.  I'm so smart.

That being said...wait, where was I even going with this?  This is just turning into one of those posts that start out as something but then turns out to be just whimsical ramblings that barely make any sense. Those posts suck.  I'm gonna end it here and finish up tomorrow's Douchebag Darrel and then sleep.  A lot.

Because I'm sick.

And tired.

And a lazy-ass college student.

Until tomorrow,
The mysterious author of this blog.

  1. I love how you protected everyone's names. That was really considerate of you.
I think it's really cool that you got fan art, I never get fan art (but it's another story that I don't even have any art that people could get inspired from... sigh).

Looking forward to the next Douchebag Darrel :).

    Get well soon!
